The Dash of Life – NEW for 2026

A biography you won't want to put down

Written by Jo and her long-time friend and author Janet Pywell, The Dash of Life tells the remarkable story of Jo’s parents. Barbara escaped Nazi persecution on the Kindertransport while Julian fled through the tunnels of Warsaw. Their paths eventually crossed in England, where they built a life filled with kindness, generosity and love.

Named after the dash between two dates on a gravestone, this moving biography honours the courage, resilience and hope that filled their lives, and shaped Jo’s own.

The Dash of Life is now available online and through local bookshops.
